Using device and network information for ID verification and fraud prevention
Mobile Connect Verified MSISDN: Matches the phone number entered by the user with that of the device accessing the Digital Service Provider’s (DSP) website or shares the MSISDN of the device accessing the DSP portal.
Mobile Connect Account Takeover Protection: This fraud prevention service provides information on the pairing between a user’s mobile phone account.
Multiple attributes employed for solid verification (Phone number, Name, Address, SIM/Device change etc.)
Provides highly secure data from the network (cannot be spoofed by malware on mobile device)
Seamless user experience
Compliant to highest level of end user privacy
Single API from multiple operators across the globe (leverages the OpenID Connect standard)
Four stages of avoiding doubt
The DSP initiates their service request (Verified MSISDN, KYC Match or ATP) with the serving operator.
Either the DSP or the operator acquires user consent for the service request.
The operator retrieves user/network/device data and performs matching (as required).
The operator shares the data and/or match indicator with the DSP.

Prevent account takeover
Jason is shopping online for a present. When he checks out, the merchant redirects the payment request to the bank. Since the amount exceeds the bank's usual threshold, they run a further check: sending a background Mobile Connect request to check for fraud signals. The customer's operator checks that Jason's SIM has not been swapped recently and that he's in his usual country. They send a confidence score back to the bank, indicating that the signals are normal. The bank is now confident that Jason is who he says he is, and approves the transaction.
Invisible user experience, enhancing conversion rates
The dynamic information allows for real-time checking and Jason's shopping experience goes smoothly.
For the DSP it's another layer of protection; complementing existing fraud detection systems to achieve more precise detection.
REDUCE THE STEPS IN THE PROCESS TO INCREASE CONVERSION RATES
Verified mobile number
Annie wants to take advantage of a special online offer and sign up for a new car-share app. When she accesses the app for the first time, she's asked to create an account tied to her verified mobile number. She selects Mobile Connect as a log-in mechanism and receives notification that her mobile number will be shared with the app. Annie agrees, and her number is seamlessly retrieved to create her account and bind it to her mobile.
Fast and mobile-optimised user experience
Combining account creation and number verification in a single easy step keeps Annie's interest high and she now reduces her travel costs hugely.
DSPs reduce the drop-out rates they often see because people simply can't be bothered with complex registration procedures.
